Connah's Quay Nomads Seek Third Win on the Bounce

Connah's Quay Nomads are well-prepared and rested for their upcoming match against Ammanford in the Cymru Premier. The match is scheduled for 12:30 pm at the Recreation Ground, which will be screened live on the BBC Wales iPlayer.

Following their 2-1 opening weekend defeat at the hands of Caernarfon Town, Nomads have been in excellent form. A first victory of the campaign arrived in a 3-1 derby success at Holywell Town, and was followed by last week's thumping 6-0 home victory against Trefelin.

"We're fully aware that we want to try and go and win three games on the bounce," said manager John Disney. "But, we know how difficult that's going to be and Wyn (Thomas) has done a fantastic job there."

There were a number of positives from last week's big triumph. Hussein Mehasseb scored twice and came up with an assist, while there was a hat-trick from Joe Simatupang-Ferguson. In addition, at only 16 years and 31 days old, Alfie Jones officially became the youngest ever player to make a senior appearance for the club.

Disney said: "Alfie Jones, 16 years of age, he's trained with us a number of times now. There's a ruling where you can't play until you're 16 within the league. We were going to give him some minutes at the end of last year."

Airbus Seek Back-to-Back Triumphs

Airbus are seeking to make it back-to-back triumphs for the first time this evening. Following on from goals by Jordan Evans and George Peers sealing a 2-0 verdict against Ammanford last time out, the Wingmakers are all set for a trip to Colwyn Bay.

Peers opened his account by scoring from the rebound after his initial penalty was saved and boss Mark Allen is hoping that will be the first of many this season. He told the club: "He's getting more chances than he has over the last couple of weeks. So, he'll be pleased with that and we know that he can convert, and hopefully now he's up and running, and scoring for us."
