GAP Connah S Quay FC progressed in the Welsh Cup with a 2-1 win over Porthmadog at the Essity Stadium on Friday night. The result extends their current winning streak across all competitions to six matches.
The victory in the Round of 64 comes as the team builds formidable momentum. They sit second in the Cymru Premier with 31 points from 13 games, six points behind leaders The New Saints. This strong league position is built on a five-match winning run, with recent victories over Briton Ferry, Penybont, Barry Town, Cardiff MET and Airbus UK. The team's recent form is highlighted by a 5-0 win over Airbus UK and a 4-1 victory against Cardiff MET, with key attacker J. Hodkin scoring goals at a rate of one every 95 minutes.
The squad that secured the latest league win at Briton Ferry featured a settled core, with players like C. Renshaw, A. Hughes and goal threat J. Hodkin all starting.
Attention now turns fully to the league, where a massive test awaits. GAP Connah S Quay FC travel to face The New Saints on 31 October.
