GAP Connah S Quay FC have completed the signing of striker Jordan Hodkin from Marine for an undisclosed five-figure fee. The Cymru Premier side announced the deal this week bringing the 19-year-old former Crewe Alexandra forward to Deeside. The transfer includes significant performance-related add-ons and a percentage of any future sale.
Jordan Hodkin is a young forward who came through the academy at EFL club Crewe Alexandra. He made three first-team appearances for Crewe, scoring once in a 3-1 EFL Trophy victory over Burton Albion in November 2025. After leaving Crewe on a free transfer this past summer, he joined Northern Premier League side Marine. He made five appearances for Marine this season, starting twice and coming off the bench three times, but did not find the net. Before his permanent move to Marine, Hodkin gained experience with loan spells at non-league clubs Leek Town, Nantwich Town, and Bamber Bridge.
Manager John Disney explained the club's long-term interest in the player. "Jordan is a player we have kept our eye on since his departure from Crewe, including whilst he was on trial at other clubs in pre-season," Disney said. The Nomads, who finished second in the Cymru Premier last season with 58 points from 32 games, are looking to bolster their attacking options. They were the league's top scorers in the 2025 campaign, netting 61 goals. This firepower helped them secure a runners-up spot, though they finished 22 points behind champions The New Saints.
The transfer represents a quick financial return for Marine, who signed Hodkin on a free transfer only months ago. Marine's director of football, Jimmy Holmes, acknowledged the player's potential. "Jordan joined us late in pre-season, but it was immediately clear that he possessed all the attributes required to kick on and succeed in his career," Holmes stated. The fee paid by Connah's Quay is confirmed to be a five-figure sum. The agreement also secures Marine a share of any future transfer fee involving Hodkin, protecting their interest in his development. For the Nomads, it is a investment in a promising talent who can grow within their squad, which you can explore on our squad page.
Hodkin arrives at a club with a strong recent record and clear ambitions. GAP Connah S Quay FC ended the 2025 season with a goal difference of +23, having conceded 38 times. Their form heading into the off-season was a mixed sequence of results. Disney will be hoping Hodkin can add depth and competition to an attack that already proved its potency. The young striker will have a major early test to impress, as the Nomads' next scheduled fixture is a tough away trip to face league leaders The New Saints on October 31st. Fans can mark that date on their calendars by checking our fixtures list.
The club's acquisition of Jordan Hodkin is now officially complete, with the player set to join his new teammates for training ahead of the new season.
