John Disney is calling for focus from his GAP Connah S Quay FC squad as they prepare for a third match in six days. The manager wants to maintain the winning mentality that has delivered six victories from their first nine Cymru Premier games this season.

His side faced Cardiff Met, managed by Steve Jenkins, at home on Friday evening. This came after a demanding schedule that saw a 2-1 loss at Colwyn Bay followed by a 1-0 home derby win over Airbus UK on Tuesday.

"I’m delighted with the lads, you know, but I’m not going to get too carried away," Disney said. The Nomads' recent form shows three wins, one draw and one loss from their last five outings, putting them on a two-game winning streak.

Disney has been at the helm for a decade, a period of significant success for the club. "Been here for 10 years and I’ve had some successful times," he said. "I’ve won everything you could possibly win in the Welsh system."

The team currently sits fourth in the Premier League table with 22 points from 10 matches. They are just three points behind leaders The New Saints, who they will face away at the end of October.

Their strong start is built on a solid defence, having conceded only seven goals while scoring 23. The recent 1-0 victory over Cardiff MET, secured by an I. Murray goal, will give them confidence. After Friday's match against Cardiff Met, their next fixture is away against Barry Town United on October 25. The full list of upcoming challenges is on the club's fixtures page.

While the first team prepared for Tuesday's win, the club's second string were also in action at home against Bangor City 1876 in the FAW Reserves North League. Disney's task is to manage his squad's energy through this congested period and keep the positive momentum going for supporters.
